ZANESVILLE — A county-owned property in Putnam which previously failed to sell three times has a new owner.
At a sheriff sale Thursday morning at the Muskingum County Courthouse, a former health department agency building sold for $170,000. Bids for the 333 Putnam Ave. property started at $150,000.

The property failed to attract any bids at an auction in January. Muskingum County Commissioners also put it out for sealed bids twice, but neither yielded a sale.
The top bid came from Jamie Tyson of Reach Educational Services. According to the company’s website, it provides applied behavior analytics services to children and adolescents throughout Central Ohio.
Tyson said the plan is to open a clinic for children with autism. Reach Educational Services has an existing location in Dublin offering those services. No timeline for the opening was given.
The building is approximately 8,000 square feet with 4,000 square feet of parking, located on a 0.4-acre lot.
The site was once home to three Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department agencies, Help Me Grow, Families and Children First and Women, Infants and Children. They were moved to the current health department location downtown last year.
