SOFIA (Bulgaria), September 23 (SeeNews) – Registrations of all types of new commercial vehicles in Bulgaria fell by 18.6% on the year to 879 in July, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) said on Friday.
In the first seven months of 2022, registrations decreased by 14.2% in annual terms to 5,308, the ACEA said in a statement, citing provisional data.
In July, registrations of new light commercial vehicles of up to 3.5 tonnes dropped by 39.5% to 483. In contrast, registrations of new medium and heavy commercial vehicles of over 3.5 tonnes surged by 51.8% to 387. In the month under review, only 9 medium and heavy buses and coaches were registered in the country, down from 27 a year earlier. Meanwhile, registration of heavy commercial vehicles of 16 tonnes and over jumped by 49.6% to 365.
In the EU, new commercial vehicle registrations plunged by 17.4% to 123,145 in July, marking the 13th consecutive month of decline. The sharp drop in van registrations was the key contributor to the overall contraction of the commercial vehicle market, ACEA said.
Across the EU12, which comprises member states that have joined the EU since 2004, total registrations fell by 9.8% to 18,357 in July. In the first seven months of the year, registrations declined by 10.7% to 135,335.
