WHEELING – A large building sitting on nearly three acres of land in Center Wheeling is being razed for potential redevelopment.
Motorists passing by 2400 Main St., which is a former trucking depot, likely have noticed a large piece of machinery tearing down the building.
The structure is located across from the Wheeling Water Pollution Control Plant. Public Works Director Rusty Jebbia said the property is privately owned and the city is not involved with the project.
The company razing the structure is Reclaim Co.
A quick Internet search on the address shows it is listed for sale or lease by Century Realty of Wheeling. The parcel offers 2.9 acres of space. The area is zoned C-2, which means it can be used for commercial, retail or industrial purposes, according to the company.

A Century Realty official could not be reached for comment.
An official with a neighboring business said they believe a trucking company may have already purchased the property.
The location likely would be ideal for such an outfit as it is situated near Interstates 70 and 470 and W.Va. 2. Wheeling also is centrally located between Columbus, Ohio, and Pittsburgh.
