SPRINGFIELD, VA — A 19-year-old has been charged in connection with a series of commercial robberies in the Springfield and Lorton areas, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Anis Sesay of Lorton was arrested on Aug. 31 on a robbery charge and was held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Sesay was charged in connection with an Aug. 27 incident at the Tobacco Hut on Franconia Road in Springfield.
According to police, Sesay assaulted the store clerk and took money from the Tobacco Hut. Surveillance footage was distributed, and a Fairfax County Police detective immediately identified Sesay as the robber, police said.

Since his arrest, Sesay has been connected with two other commercial robberies, police said.
He was charged with robbery and destruction of property for an Aug. 14 robbery at a Sunoco on Gunston Cover Road in Lorton. He was also charged with robbery, preventing a 911 call and destruction of property for an Aug. 25 robbery at a 7-Eleven on Richmond Hwy in Lorton.

Police said detectives are continuing to investigate if Sesay is responsible for additional robberies in the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 703-246-7800, option 5.
