Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is experiencing its third COVID-19 outbreak, and Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough is experiencing its second since late last year.
According to New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services statistics from Sept. 22, 22 residents and five staff members have tested positive for COVID at Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. At Pheasant Wood Center, seven residents and four staff have been infected. No deaths have been reported at either facility.
The first outbreak at Jaffrey Rehabilitation ended Jan. 3, with one death. Thirty-three residents and 11 staff members were infected. The second outbreak ended April 22, with 23 residents and five staff members having been infected. There were no deaths.
The previous outbreak at Pheasant Wood Center ended April 26, with two deaths. In that outbreak, 42 residents and 13 staff members were infected.
DHHS announced 1,318 new positive COVID test results between Sept. 15 and 21, with six new deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, DHHS states there have been a total of 348,552 cases of COVID diagnosed, with 2,690 deaths. As of Sept. 22, there were 1,708 active COVID cases and 24 hospitalizations.
As of Friday afternoon, neither Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center administrator Patrick Lyons nor Pheasant Wood administrator Nicholas Labrie could be reached for comment.
