Members of the Class of 2026 arrived at Stanford Tuesday for Move-In Day, one of the signature events of New Student Orientation.

Students, many accompanied by parents and other guests as well as bags and suitcases, checked into residences across campus, from Wilbur and Casper to FloMo and Muwekma-Tah-Ruk. As they arrived at their new Stanford homes, the new students were welcomed by older students and resident fellows. At some residences, such as West Lagunita and Ujamaa, they were greeted with music and gifts, including t-shirts and snacks.
President Marc Tessier-Lavigne made his way to each residence to greet students as they arrived.
“Move-in Day is an exciting moment for new students. It marks the start of an intellectual journey and the beginning of friendships that will greatly enrich their experiences here,” said Tessier-Lavigne. “I am thrilled to welcome our new students to Stanford, and I look forward to seeing what they accomplish here over the next few years.”
This year, Stanford is welcoming more than 1,700 first-year students and 47 transfer students from all over the country and abroad.
