Sheldon Bosley Knight (SBK) has snapped up its second estate agency in as many months with the acquisition of Charles Kimbell Lettings in Market Harborough.
The acquisition brings with it the addition of 250 fully managed properties to SBK’s books.
SOUTH LEICESTERSHIRE
Charles Kimbell was founded and established in 1991 and has two offices – Market Harborough and Lutterworth – and covers the south Leicestershire area.
It will solidify the presence SBK already has in the area following the acquisition of Leicestershire-based Andrew Granger & Co last July.
The Charles Kimbell lettings portfolio has been so well looked after for over 32 years.”
Rebecca Dean (main picture, left) SBK’s Lettings Director, says: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as the agent to take over the Charles Kimbell lettings portfolio which has been built and so well looked after for over 32 years.
“This acquisition is a perfect fit for our business and further strengthens our Andrew Granger office in Market Harborough taking the portfolio size to almost 800 fully managed properties.
“We are very happy the staff who are also very well established within the business will be joining us and will continue to support the landlords and tenants within this portfolio.”
RETIRE AND SELL
Stephen Kimbell (main picture, right) Charles Kimbell Owner, adds: “After 33 highly successful years the owners have decided it is time to retire and sell the business.
“A buyer has been carefully chosen, primarily for the benefit of landlords and tenants, who are locally based and an independent agency with the resources to deal with the changing times facing the private rental sector.”
And he adds: “SBK is a company managed and led by people with the experience and knowledge required to achieve this and with the addition of former staff, Sam and Lisa, it is certain Charles Kimbell’s landlords and tenants will continue to be well served.”

Estate agency Sheldon Bosley Knight (SBK) has made its first acquisition of 2024 and added another lettings book to its expanding portfolio.
Midlands-based SBK swooped on Warwickshire-based Charles Saville Limited and sees it adding more than 150 fully managed properties to its books.
Estate agency
Charles Saville Limited was established in 1984 in Stratford-upon-Avon and quickly built up a reputation as a high-quality lettings agent with tailored, personalised service as standard.
Currently run by director Nicola Morris (main picture, left) the business has built a significant following, with 75% of its portfolio coming by word-of-mouth recommendation. Its client base covers Stratford-upon-Avon, South Warwickshire and North Cotswolds.
Mike Cleary (main picture, right) of SBK, says: “I am honoured Nicola has chosen Sheldon Bosley Knight to hand over the reins of her estate agency.
“I have got to know her over the last four years and it’s clear she’s run a tight ship enabling her to build an excellent lettings agency and in fact I believe it to be one of the best in Stratford.”
PERFECT FIT
And he adds: “The acquisition itself is a perfect fit for us as our core values of putting the client first and excellent customer service are very much aligned.
“We are delighted her staff will be joining us and we wish Nicola all the very best for her new life.”
SBK, which celebrated its 180th birthday last year, has more than 180 in-house staff in offices across Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Worcestershire, the West Midlands and the Cotswolds.
The Neg told in October how SBK had acquired its fifth business in as many months after buying Leicestershire-based Andrew Granger & Co for an undisclosed sum.
That deal saw SBK add a lettings department of approximately 1,000 properties alongside a busy sales operation which lists approximately 400 properties each year.
