Additionally, if you do have a registered agent on file but they aren’t doing their job, you could face serious legal consequences. If you don’t know of a pending lawsuit against you because your registered agent didn’t forward the summons to you, a default judgment can be ordered against your business. That means you lose the lawsuit because you never responded or showed up to court.
