
PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — A woman is seriously hurt, and one of her dogs is dead after being trapped in a mobile home fire in Peoria on Wednesday morning.
First responders were called to a mobile home fire near 77th Avenue and Peoria Avenue around 9:20 a.m., and received reports of a person trapped inside.
When firefighters arrived, they began extinguishing the flames and rescuing a woman inside, according to Peoria Fire-Medical. She was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
One dog was found dead inside the home, and a second dog was taken to an animal hospital for further treatment, fire crews say.

Footage from Arizona’s Family News Chopper showed fire investigators on the scene of a mobile home, which had scorch marks near one of the home’s windows.
A Peoria firefighter suffered a minor injury during the incident, while another firefighter and a Peoria police officer were checked out for smoke inhalation. None of them had to be hospitalized.
The investigation is ongoing.
