King Charles’ decision to disallow Prince Andrew to move into Harry and Meghan’s former royal residence, Frogmore Cottage, suggests as the monarch is sure Harry will eventually return to the UK with his family.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Andrew had agreed to leave his lavish mansion Royal Lodge, but was asking for the Sussex’s former home Frogmore Cottage instead.

However, the monarch has chosen another location for his younger brother’s future residence, which is far from Windsor.

Andrew’s next nest is at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The specific details of which house he’ll be living in have been kept under wraps to date. Some believe it might be Gardens House, a six-bedroom property.

According to a Palace insider, ‘The monarch knows the move will hurt Harry. It could be like rubbing salt into the wounds instead of healing them.’

The royal source went on to reveal, ‘Charles sees Frogmore Cottage as his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet’s future home as the King still wants the Duke to return to the UK.’

‘Andrew will now move to alternative private accommodation,’ they added.

Frogmore Cottage was the first marital home of Harry and Meghan, who spent millions renovating the property before being told to leave after stepping back as senior royals.

The property was a part of the royal family’s property portfolio since the 19th century. It comes to the public attention when the Sussexes moved into the house after their marriage.

Initially, the couple reportedly refurbished the Grade 2-listed cottage using £2.4 million of taxpayer’s money. However, they later reimbursed this amount in full by contributing to the Sovereign Grant.

Originally, Frogmore Cottage boasted 10 bedrooms. After Harry and Meghan’s renovation, it was transformed into a five-bedroom property. It now features two orangeries, a vegetable garden and a yoga studio, according to House and Garden.
