1,100 new homes in Clermont County approved under the wire before development freeze


CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – The Batavia Township board of trustees at its Nov. 5 meeting approved plans for a pair of residential developments expected to bring more than 1,000 new homes to the growing community 15 miles east of Cincinnati.

The approvals come amid a time of strife and uncertainty in the township, as residents in the Nov. 4 election approved a pair of referendums.

The first referendum torpedoed an approved housing development from M/I Homes. The second removed planned development regulations from the township’s zoning code altogether, making it all but impossible for new residential developments to proceed in the township going forward.
