Tammy Abraham speaks out on Aston Villa return and makes ’emotional’ admission

Tammy Abraham has spoken about his return to Aston Villa for the first time, having sealed his move back to Villa Park after last playing for the team in 2019

Tammy Abraham admits that the thought of walking out at Villa Park again leaves him speechless.

The striker has returned to the club from Besiktas in a deal worth £18million, following Unai Emery’s long-standing interest.

Villa have tried to sign Abraham before, having brought him in on a season-long loan in 2018/19, where he scored 25 league goals to help the club achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

After rejoining the club this week, Abraham can now look forward to making his second debut this weekend against Brentford in B6.

“It still doesn’t feel real. I was speaking to my missus yesterday and we were just reminiscing about all the memories we had,” Abraham told VillaTV.

“Being here, I just can’t wait to meet everyone and to be back at Villa Park, seeing the crowd and familiar faces.

“Since the first time I arrived here, I fell in love with the club. We had an amazing season and an amazing outcome.

“I always told myself that if I came back to England, then Villa would be a special team to come back to. I spoke it into existence.

“I had so many great memories, and now I’m here to create more.”

Asked how he will feel walking out at Villa Park again, Abraham said: “I don’t think I could put that into words. I know it is going to be emotional.

“Even though I only had a season here, it is a club which means a lot to me, and to my family as well. I’m excited, I just can’t wait.”
