The Greenville Design Review Board unanimously voted to defer for 180 days on an application to demolish a bungalow at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, which is enshrined on the National Register of Historic Places.
During a Nov. 15 meeting, the five-member committee agreed that the building’s significance on the National Registry has led to hesitation to demolish the 1924-built structure without exploring all options to continue its legacy.
