Aston Villa team news vs Liverpool confirmed as Unai Emery makes one change from Man City win

Unai Emery has selected his Aston Villa team to face Liverpool in the Premier League
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to face Liverpool at Anfield.
He has made one change to the side that beat Manchester City 1-0 at Villa Park last weekend, as Evann Guessand starts instead of the injured Emi Buendia.
Emi Martínez starts in goal, behind a defence of Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres and Lucas Digne.
Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana operate in the double pivot, while Guessand, John McGinn and Morgan Rogers support striker Ollie Watkins.
Villa are aiming for their first win at Anfield in 11 years tonight, as well as a fifth consecutive league victory, following recent wins over Fulham, Burnley, Tottenham and Manchester City.
While no side in the Premier League is currently on a longer winning run than Villa, no side is on a longer losing run than Liverpool (four games).
In top-flight history, there have been seven occasions when the reigning champions have lost five games in a row — and three of those instances have involved Liverpool (in 1906–07, 1923–24 and 1947–48).
However, Villa have won just one of their last 15 Premier League meetings with Liverpool (D3 L11) — that being the 7-2 victory at Villa Park in October 2020.
Villa starting XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne, Kamara, Onana, Guessand, McGinn, Rogers, Watkins.
Subs: Bizot, Maatsen, Lindelof, Mings, Bogarde, Barkley, Sancho, Malen, Broggio.
Liverpool starting XI: Mamardashvili, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo.
Subs: Woodman, Pecsi, Gomez, Endo, Kerkez, Wirtz, Chiesa, Nyoni, Ngumoha.
