Burglary at businessman’s Sola bungalow while family was on Dubai trip | Ahmedabad News
Ahmedabad: A burglary was reported on Monday at the Sola residence of a city-based businessman after his family returned from a vacation in Dubai.According to the FIR filed with Bodakdev police, the complainant, Mitesh Jayen Thakkar (55), who runs Ramesh Engineering Corporation from Pushpam Complex in Satellite, told police that he lives with his wife, son, and daughter at their bungalow near the Science City.Thakkar stated that the family left for Dubai on Oct 23 and locked the house before departure. When they returned around 1.30am on Oct 31, they found the kitchen’s iron grill and sliding window broken. Upon checking the upper floor, the bedroom of his daughter was found ransacked, and a locker was missing.According to the complaint, the locker contained Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, a silver bowl weighing about 70 grams worth Rs 3,500, two silver lotuses weighing 40 grams worth Rs 2,000, and a silver Laxmi coin weighing 20 grams worth Rs 1,000.Bodakdev police registered a complaint of a theft in a dwelling house and criminal trespassing under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and began an investigation.
