He said: “You saw a dog walker in West Bromwich you asked her for a cigarette and then you grabbed her round the head, put an ornament next to her face. The woman told you she had no money you them repeatedly shouted ‘where do you live’.

“She said she would try and get some money but then ran to a bungalow to escape. This was the time you could have reflected on your behaviour and leave it at that. Instead you followed the lady and beat your way in, hurting one of your victim’s leg.

“They were so scared of you they barricaded themselves in their living room. They could hear you ransacking the place and going from room to room emptying wardrobes and cupboards.”

He added: “When you were arrested you continued to scream and shout and tried to spit at the officer. You threatened to head butt a female officer and then racially abused her making her feel distraught.

“You have previous convictions including racial offences which is an aggravating factor in my sentencing. This racist abuse really effects the victims. I hope you reflect on your behaviour during your sentence and I hope not to see you again.”
