Matty Cash signs new Aston Villa deal until 2029

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash (28) has signed a new long-term contract keeping him at the club until 2029, rewarding his outstanding form under Unai Emery this season, BBC Sport reports.

The Poland international, who joined Villa from Nottingham Forest in 2020, has been one of the side’s most consistent performers this season. His new deal extends his stay by two years beyond his previous 2027 agreement, a reflection of his growing importance to a team chasing European qualification once again.

Cash’s recent performances have epitomised Villa’s resilience and ambition. The 28-year-old scored the decisive goal in the 1–0 win over Manchester City this weekend, following on from an impressive performance against Tottenham the week before.

I’m playing with a lot of confidence,” Cash said after Sunday’s victory. “Every time I get the ball on the edge of the box, I feel like I can make something happen.”
