Sunday’s 2-1 win at Tottenham was Villa’s fifth win on the spin and a feel-good factor is returning to the club, after a dire start to the season saw them fail to win any of their first six matches.
But Emery is eager to push on with his team still in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Villa next visit Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League on Thursday night and Emery still wants players to give more.
“There is still work to do,” he said. “Players need to increase their level, some of them have been injured.
“When we can have more players to choose from, it is better for the coach and our performance.”
Emery, who branded his team “lazy” in the wake of last month’s 1-1 draw at Sunderland, believes the dressing room has “changed” in recent weeks with key players regaining form and fitness.
He believes Sunday’s win was an example of their renewed strength in depth, explaining: “The second part of last season, we performed fantastic. We had lots of players ready to play.
“Sunday was an example. Buendia and Watkins came on and were fantastic after the very good job of Malen and Guessand. Barkley and Maatsen were fantastic also in the idea we are trying to build.”
Villa will train at Bodymoor Heath on Wednesday morning before flying out to the Netherlands. They enter the week sitting third in the Europa League table, with two wins from two matches.
