While volume leaders like The Jills Zeder Group closed the most home sales this year, Miami-Dade County’s top residential agent by median deal price brokered just a handful of luxury transactions.
In fact, the county’s top-performing residential brokerage team by median deal size didn’t crack the top 10 in terms of total deal volume this year.
Ximena Penuela with Fort Realty ranked first among the top agents or agent teams by median deal size, with a typical sale of $19.5 million. Penuela handled just seven deals this year, which was the fewest among the top 25 brokers analyzed by The Real Deal for its annual ranking.
Penuela brokered one of the most expensive sales this year, Wonder Woman Lynda Carter’s $38.2 million penthouse at Four Seasons Residences at the Surf Club at 9001 Collins Avenue in Surfside.
Following Penuela was Dina Goldentayer with Douglas Elliman. Goldentayer, third in terms of deal volume, closed 23 deals — with a median price tag of $18 million — over the past year.
The Jills Zeder Group of Coldwell Banker Realty, which includes Jill Eber, Jill Hertzberg and Judy Zeder, held on once again to the top spot among the county’s agents in terms of deal volume. Over the past year, the team inked some $1.4 billion in deals across 157 transactions. However, the group’s median deal size was $5.5 million, the ninth-best in the county.
The group also had the top sale of the year in the county, as it represented the seller of 18 La Gorce Circle, which traded for $122.1 million.
Overall, the top brokers and teams raked in about 19 percent more than they did last year. Over the past year, the best-performing brokers did about $6.4 billion worth of activity across 1,043 deals. The median deal price for the cohort was $2.8 million.
Miami’s residential brokers have said much of the county is in a buyer’s market, like many pockets of the country. However, they also noted that ultraluxury homes — those priced above $30 million — are still seeing scorching hot demand.
For its top residential broker ranking, TRD analyzed home sales greater than $500,000 in Miami-Dade County, where brokers represented the buy-side, sell-side, or both between Aug. 5, 2024 and Aug. 5, 2025. Off-market and new development sales were not included in the analysis.
