Police say Air Force 1st Lieutenant Jaime Gustitus, 25, and Jaymee Prichard, 33, were both killed by 34-year-old Jacob Prichard in a crime spree that spanned three counties.

An investigation revealed that Prichard broke into Gustitus’ condo on Honey Tree Place in Sugarcreek Township around 2 a.m. on Saturday and killed her.

Radio traffic from Saturday morning showed a dispatcher relaying information from a 911 caller who reported seeing a man with a gun banging on their neighbor’s door, trying to get into the condo. That caller also said they saw the man jump off the deck.

Neighbors told News Center 7 that officers discovered a ladder up to a second-floor balcony. Neighbors did not see police climb up to the balcony.

Radio traffic revealed officers tried to contact anyone inside but got “no answer” and left a message.

According to neighbors, police left the apartment around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, then returned around 7 a.m.

As shown on News Center 7 at 5:00, our team obtained the search warrant in Green County that stated a sergeant and officer “couldn’t find the male” around Gustitus’ condo.

The warrant went on to state, “Officers were able to look into the residence and saw a female (lying) on a bed inside with blood on her face and was also not responding. Officers entered the residence to provide first aid, but the female was deceased.”

The search warrant does not say if Sugarcreek Twp. officers entered the condo on their first or second trip there, but the Greene County coroner confirmed to News Center 7 that they were requested to the scene at 10:41 a.m.

A list of items found in the search was included in the warrant. That included a broken screen with a possible bullet hole, two live bullets, and five fired cartridge casings, indicating Jacob Prichard fired between five and seven shots in the condo.

News Center 7’s Mike Campbell went to the Sugarcreek Township Police Department on Tuesday to try and request any reports from the call to the condo. There, he was able to flag down Police Chief Mike Brown, who told him the ongoing work in the investigation means it will likely be several more days before any reports are publicly available.

As previously reported, Gustitus worked in the 711th Human Performance Wing as part of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Both Jacob and Jaymee Prichard also worked at WPAFB and knew Gustitus.

Police say Jacob killed Jaymee, his wife, either during the late hours on Friday night or the early hours on Saturday morning, and put her in the trunk of their car.

After killing Gustitus, Jacob’s next known whereabouts were at the West Milton Municipal parking lot. There, he got out of his car and shot himself.

West Milton police said on Monday that he opened the trunk before killing himself, so officers who found him would also find Jaymee.

West Milton Police are working with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Sugarcreek Township Police in Greene County, Huber Heights Police in Montgomery County, and crews from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Wright-Patterson Office of Special Investigations.
